The Fish Market Restaurant Fiskmarkaðurinn - Reykjavík, Iceland

Here I am at The Fish Market or Fiskmarkaðurinn. This seafood restaurant is located in the old Kvosin area of Reykjavík, which is like the city center.

Earlier today, I jumped in a water filled crack that opened up on the earth’s crust. As you do.

VOX Restaurant - Reykjavík, Iceland

Happy New Year.
I already rang in the New Year several hours ago, and I hope you have a great time when the clock strikes twelve back home in BC.
I hope you don't mind, but I'll try to share a quick post or two about my travels as I make my way through three Nordic countries.

Warunee's Thai Restaurant - Kamloops, BC

This is Warunee’s Thai Restaurant. Did you know Warunee’s Thai Restaurant is closing soon? I think the signage stated the closing will be at the end of December 2012.
This Thai restaurant has been a fixture on 400 block of Tranquille Road for decades and from evidence of the photo collages on the wall, Warunee’s has a loyal following.

*Details will be brief. (See reason below.)

Coconut Juice ($3.95)

Gaeng Massaman ($13.95)

The Bread Company - Kelowna, BC

I need a little breakfast before I start a full day today, so this morning and I’m here at The Bread Company. I love eateries that open early, and the Bread Co. opens conveniently at 6:00am on weekdays. Seriously, there are very few sit down places that open early and can provide a well made coffee and solid morning fare before 6:30am. The Bread Company bakery café is located on Bernard Street in downtown Kelowna.

Carolina Smoke BBQ - Bothell, WA

Firstly, thank you everyone for your patience with the site lately. It's been runnning as slow as molasses-in-January for the past few days. Hopefully, all is well now... I appreciate all the concerned emails!

JamCan Cafe - Kamloops, BC

I tried to get to the JamCan Café earlier for their breakfast offerings, but I was moving at sloth speed this morning. The JamCan Café is exactly what the name implies: a little Jamaican fare and a little Canadian fare. The diner is located in an industrial business center just off of the Halston on 12th. Did I say that like a non-newbie? I remember when I first came out to Kamloops; every now and again people would refer to this mysterious thing called The Halston. It took me a while to figure out they were referring to the connector road.

Vedder Mountain Grille - Chilliwack, BC

**UPDATE NOVEMBER 2013: The Vedder Mountain Grille is now closed.**
The past few months have been non stop! I’m heading out to Richmond, BC for a conference. On my way down, I stop at Vedder Mountain Grille. I thought I’d just swing in for a coffee, but my rumbling tummy advises me to have something more substantial.

Coffee ($2.50)

Dina's Place Restaurant - Lillooet, BC

I’m still in Lillooet and it is Guaranteed Rugged. Yes it is. I’ve enjoyed many hiking trails in Lillooet and the surrounding areas for the past few summers. Have you been to Seton Lake? So beautiful.

Dina’s Place Restaurant is located on Main Street and seems to have a loyal local following.

Cheese Saganaki ($12.95)

Gabriel's Cafe - Nanaimo, BC

Have you been gorging on berries like I have lately? For the past couple of weeks all I’ve been eating are blueberries and raspberries. I even took a pint of blueberries with me on the ferry for snacking. My tasks, appointments and meetings are expected to eat up all of my day in Nanaimo, so I grab a quick bite beforehand.

TJ's Bistro and Ice Cream Parlour - Logan Lake, BC

Happy August! I only know about TJ’s Bistro because a few years ago some friends were camping in Logan Lake, and wanted to have a non-campfire meal and “see the town.” TJ’s Bistro is located in the main shopping area in Logan Lake. It’s tucked into a courtyard of sorts, along with other retailers and the town’s supermarket. The “for sale” sign was up two years ago too.

Cordon Bagel ($5.95)
