Honey Tom Chicken - Kelowna, BC

I'm on my way out of Kelowna and I had to share with you Honey Tom Chicken before it's too late. Honey Tom Chicken is KFC. No, not the Colonel, but rather KFC as in: Korean Fried Chicken. The little shop is on the corner of Benvoulin Road and K.L.O. Road. If you like Korean style fried chicken this the place to get it in the interior.

Mittz Kitchen - Kamloops, BC

Hi ya Kamloops! I have to go to a meeting in Kelowna tomorrow so it allows me to sneak in town for some food today. I find myself downtown and hungry during that glorious stretch of time where you can choose between either the brunch menu or lunch menu. (It really is the little things that keep me happy, isn't it?)

I don't have any particular place in mind, so I use my trusty Park n' Scarf method of finding eats. This method is very technical: I find a parking space, park, and then scarf down at an eatery that is within ten steps from aforementioned parking space. It works for me.

Shiro - Vancouver, BC

After a morning of grocery getting and mindless window shopping, I find myself ravenous, and in need of lunch quickly. Oh, Shiro. Shiro is always handy for a generous lunch. So here I am. Me and my little red senior’s cart.

Las Tortas - Vancouver, BC

I’m still hanging around Vancouver for a while. I’ve been lucky with the weather as it’s been agreeable for my entire stay so far. I’ve been able to walk pretty much everywhere. A short walk from my temporary digs is Las Tortas. (The last time I blogged about this substantial Mexican sandwich was at Aca Las Tortas in Bothell, Washington.)

Fat Jack's Homestyle Diner: Bunny Pie - Boston Bar, BC

I’ve been MIA for a while, I know. Last year, around this time, I had an extended stint out in Nanaimo (Click here for my Nanaimo eating posts.) This year, I have to be out in Vancouver for an extended stint.

I’ve decided to share Fat Jack’s Diner with you again (click here for my burger visit). I have to be home for a little while and then drive back out to the coast.

The Grand Bay Cafe: Sunday Brunch - Kelowna, BC

It feels like I’ve been everywhere for the past little while, except for Kamloops. I’m in Kelowna for a couple of days of conferencing and then a meeting on Monday. I didn’t want to drive back and forth, so I chose to stay through the weekend. The Grand Bay Café is located inside the Delta Grand Hotel Resort in Kelowna.

The Grand Bay Café has a Sunday Brunch set-up conveniently down stairs in the lobby. Breakfast is just an elevator ride away...

Baoguette Vietnamese Bistro - Vancouver, BC

I’ve been back and forth to and from the coast for the past several weeks, and it seems it will be this way for the next little while. I figure I’ll throw in a coastal entry or two; otherwise I won’t be penning anything for weeks!

Baoguette is a little Vietnamese eatery on Denman and Beach Avenue. It’s right across from the wildly popular art installation: A-Maze-ing Laughter or “Laughing Man Statues.”

SalaJai Thai Restaurant- Kamloops, BC

Let’s try Thai today. SalaJai is a restaurant on Tranquille Road that offers Thai fare. I have to pick up a couple of items for the gardening season nearby and Salajai just happened to be in a handy location. Have you started anything garden-wise yet? I spy my neighbours have been diligently prepping and cleaning out their garden beds for the past couple of weeks.

Pork Satay ($9.50)

Reubin's Diner - Kamloops, BC

Here I am at Reubin’s Diner. This eatery is attached to the Esso on Tranquille. Since it is in the same building that houses the Esso, I’m going to go ahead and tag it as “Gas Station Eats.” There’s quite a line up for the car wash today with several vehicles waiting to wash off winter’s dirt. Spring is here, but does that mean Winter and all of winter's weather is gone too?

The diner is already busy with several tables enjoying enormous sandwiches when I arrive. People look happy here, so that’s a good sign.

Three Amigos Sandwich with Beef Barley soup ($12.95)

NaRi Sushi - Kelowna, BC

I’m at NaRi Sushi today for a quick lunch stop. NaRi Sushi is located in the Snyatan shopping complex, several doors down from Bamboo Chopsticks (Click here for my Bamboo Chopsticks visit.)

When I first started coming out to Kelowna I would see signs and TV adverts in my hotel room referring to K-Town. For the longest time I was wondering, “So there’s a Korea Town in Kelowna? Where is it?”
Deserving of an eye-roll, I know. I’m so thankful I never opened my mouth and asked anyone about a K-Town in Kelowna.

Tempura Udon ($10.00)
